Lately...

This summer has been so busy.  I can't believe July is almost over!  Ideally I would love to blog about each individual event that has gone on lately, but Mason is taking a nap so I only have a little time.  If you've ever had a toddler- you understand.  So I will give you a quick update...

My sister came home for a few weeks and we got to spend a lot of time with her and her new baby, JR.  Here are some pics from her visit home...

Mason and Aunt Jill

"here JR let me show you how to move your arms!"

The proud grandparents with their boys

Mom, Jill, JR, me and Mason took a trip to Arapaho to visit our family on the farm.  It was a great trip.  JR was a good baby and slept in the car.  I learned that my child no longer sleeps in the car...so we sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and Old McDonald about 50 times.  And Mason pointed out every semi-truck we passed.  "Look mommy big truck!  Look Gramma big truck!  Look Aunt Dill big truck!"

Uncle Rex was trying to decide who had more hair..him or JR

Mason got to play with someone who acts his age...my cousin JD

Mason LOVED the farm cats

Jill and our cousin Burke on the porch enjoying the wonderful Oklahoma heat

The coolest weather vane.  Ever.  Period.

and also the coolest mailbox.  Only in the country.

I had a little play date at my house with the Parker sisters and the Henry sisters and all of our boys!
Here is Lauren and Tyler, Jill and JR, and Erin and Ryker

And the "big boys" Jake and Mason

July 4th was a blast although I didn't get to take very many pictures.  Probably because I always had food in my hand instead of my camera.  But here is what happened, in a nutshell.  The guys (my father-in-law, my husband, Jeff and Chris) blew stuff up and we all went ooooohh and aaaaaahh.  And we ate...A LOT...and it was good.  God Bless America...and corn on the cob!  Mason loved the fireworks, except the really loud ones.  But I have no doubt that he will follow in his daddy's footsteps and enjoy blowing things up one day very soon.

My bestest friend, and partner in crime, and I got to go on a friend date to a wedding for one of our sorority sisters in Edmond.  We left our husbands and boys at home.  Funny things happen when Lauren and I take road trips.  This road trip we got lost...
1.  on the way to the church
2.  on the way to the reception
3.  on the way home.

Apparently if we are anywhere other than Tulsa or Stillwater we have some problems with directions and GPS.  But we had a blast.  It was so great to see our KD girls!

The Kappa Delta's at Kristen's wedding.  AOT!!!

I have more, but I'm running out of time.  I'll be back soon to talk about cars, swim lessons, work and more!
