I'm back- I know it's been over a week. I've been busy, really busy. I did have one free night to blog this week, but Dirty Dancing was on tv and honestly...who can resist Patrick Swayze in tight black pants saying things like "nobody puts Baby in the corner." But I have a lot to blog about so stay tuned. And I would just like to say to everyone who has given me feedback about my blog- thank you! I'm glad people are actually enjoying it. I promise I will try to update more, but if cheesy 80's dance movies are on tv I can't make any promises, okay? Ok.
Father's Day was great. We started out the day going to the Shelby Show. It was hot. We walked around and looked at Mustangs. And it was hot. Michael entered his Mustang this year and got runner up! Yay! But it was so hot! Here are some pics from the show...
Michael's Mustang
Michael and Mason lookin at mustangs...
old Mustangs...
and new Mustangs...
Despite the heat, Mason loved it. I was so proud because he could name every car there. "Mustang! Mustang! Mustang! Mustang go vvrrooom!"
After returning to the air conditioning we had a little Father's Day Fiesta with fajitas at our house. We celebrated 3 very special dad's.
3 Generations of Daniel men (aren't they so handsome?!)
Michael and his sister, Christina, with their dad
Me and my sister, Jill, with our dad
If you asked me to describe my dad I would say he is a hard working, humble man who has a great sense of humor and loves his family. And as far as I can remember he has always been there for us.
He was there to play Barbie's with us...in our pink rooms...
he was there to let us play beauty shop...
he was there for every dance recital...
and every piano recital, every cheerleading tryout, every drill team competition, every softball and basketball game, every science fair, and every OSU Dad's day...
and he was there to walk both of us down the aisle and give us away...
Yup, he is always there for us. And he never complained. I always wondered if it bothered my dad that he never had a son. If he missed playing football instead of Barbies. I asked him once and he said, absolutely not. But for putting up with all the girly stuff over the years...the dolls, the slumber parties, the teenage years...I think my sister and I gave him something pretty special in return.
We both had boys and we both gave our boys middle names after our dad!
And I have no doubt in my mind that he is as great of a granddad as he is our dad. And that he will be there for our boys to play football, and cars, and do boys stuff.
I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful dad. And I also feel incredibly blessed that Mason has such a wonderful dad too. They say that girls marry guys like their father. And I think they're right. Because in 2 years I can't think of a time when Michael wasn't there...
So I know it is a little late, but Happy Father's Day to my dad, my husband, and my father-in-law!
'til next time,
Andrea
