Thomas the Train

Our son loves Thomas.  And Percy, and Emily, and Gordon, and (I can name all of the trains, but I'll spare you the boring details).  So last weekend we took him to Oklahoma City to A Day Out with Thomas.

Before we left we gave him his gear.  A Thomas medallion he wore around his neck.

And his very own conductor's hat.

He also got a whistle, but I couldn't take a picture of it because I was laughing too hard watching him try to blow into it.  I can't even describe it, but it was hilarious.

And off we went to the Oklahoma City Railway Museum.  A place dedicated to trains.  It was like Christmas for boys from the age of 1-6.  And Sir Topham Hatt was Santa.  In which case, my son screamed his head off when we went to take our picture with him.  I didn't bother to order it because they charged something ridiculous like $97 for a 5 x 7, but to give you an idea this is our picture with Santa last year.

Same story, different day.

But we moved on and had a great time.

He played with trains at the imagination station...

And then we got on a train to go to story time, which was in fact about a train...

And then we saw some model trains...

And then we met Thomas.  The Train.  Thomas the Train.  How many times am I going to write "train" in this blog?  I'm not sure, but it seems like a lot doesn't it?  Anyway...

Mason was very excited.
He waved and screamed "Thomas!  Look daddy, it's Thomas!  Look mommy, it's Thomas!"

ALL ABOARD!
Finally, we rode behind Thomas the Train on a nice relaxing ride through the island of Sodor
(or so we pretended)...

I kept waiting to hear George Carlin's voice narrating our ride, but then I remembered I wasn't actually on the show.  Silly me.

So after a long day out with Thomas we said goodbye.

And then Mason threw a tantrum by the Porta-Potty...

And Mike and I wondered why we ever decided to buy our tickets for the ride during Mason's nap time.

Then we got in the car and 5 minutes later...

And the boy and his trains lived happily ever after.
The End.
