Happy Mother’s Day! (err...yesterday anyway)


I LOVE Mother’s Day. I will forever associate it with Mason’s birthday because he was born the day before Mother’s Day, BUT due to the craziness of my emergency C-section, my “drugged” state after my surgery and his rush to the NICU I didn’t actually get to hold him until Mother’s Day. That is a mother’s day I will never forget!

Becoming a mom has been the most rewarding experience of my life. It also makes me appreciate my mom much, much more! Not to say I didn’t appreciate her before…I just never fully understood the sacrifices my mom made until I became one. So I have a few M-day “shout outs” to make…

To my mom- thank you for…everything. For enduring the pain of a LONG and NATURAL birth, for choosing to stay home and raise me and JJ, for instilling your values in us, for making me feel special and loved. I could not have asked for a better mother.

To my husband- thank you for a wonderful M-day…for letting me sleep until 9:30, the cinnamon rolls for breakfast, the cookout for lunch, my gift, and most importantly for our son- the best gift you ever gave me!

To my mother-in-law- thank you for raising such a handsome and intelligent man!

To my sister on her first Mother's Day as a new mom- mom was with me on my first M-day and I am glad she is with you on yours. 

To Mason- I am so blessed to be your mommy.
